WHAT IS JUVEDERM?

Juvederm is a dermal filler created with hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance in the body to attract and bind water. This injectable gel treatment helps to replenish areas of the face where volume and fullness have been lost to age or skin laxity (called age related volume loss), causing severe facial wrinkles and significant loose skin. By adding volume, this dermal filler can smooth lines, plump lips, and contour the face. Juvederm is an optimal treatment for the face, jawline, lips, and neck areas, requiring minimal downtime.

Juvederm is actually a family of hyaluronic acid dermal fillers and includes other options such as Voluma, Volbella, and Vollure. The Juvéderm Collection also includes Ultra XC injectable gel and Ultra Plus XC.

Who is a Candidate?

Adults 21 years of age and older who are looking to restore youthful volume to their face can often benefit from Juvederm injections. You should not receive aesthetic dermal fillers if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have an active skin infection at the treatment site, or if you have a history of severe allergic reactions. JUVEDERM TREATMENT

Prior to your Juvederm treatment, a consultation is needed to evaluate your facial structure and review your medical history. Dr. Bilbruck will take the time to create a customized treatment plan with our best hyaluronic acid fillers to help meet your individual goals.

To begin treatment, the skin will be cleansed and a topical numbing cream will be applied to ensure you are comfortable during injections. Juvederm will then be artfully injected into the specified areas to create a more youthful appearance. Skin injection procedures can take anywhere from 20 to 60 minutes, depending on the number of areas being treated.

JUVEDERM RESULTS

Following treatment, you may experience mild and temporary bruising and swelling at the injection site. There is no downtime, so you can return to your regular activities right away. However, we advise that you minimize strenuous exercise and alcohol consumption for 24 hours after treatment for the best results. Also, be sure to apply sunscreen to your skin when spending time outdoors and avoid extensive sun.

An improvement will be noticeable directly after treatment, with improved results seen once the swelling subsides. Juvederm results can last for 18 months.
