Who is a Candidate?

Healthy adults who wish to remove their unwanted tattoo(s) can often benefit from laser tattoo removal. You should not receive this treatment if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have a history of abnormal scarring, have a history of an allergic reaction to tattoo ink, or are taking medications that increase your skin’s sensitivity to light. Tattoo Removal Treatment

Before your treatment, Dr. Bilbruck will review your medical history and discuss your expectations for treatment. She will also assess your tattoo and create a personalized treatment plan for you.

To begin treatment, a topical numbing cream is applied to the skin, or an injection of local anesthetic is given to ensure you are comfortable. Then, the laser handpiece is used to apply a powerful pulse of energy to the tattoo, shattering the tattoo ink in the skin. A treatment session can take anywhere from 10 to 60 minutes, depending on the size of the tattoo.

Tattoo Removal Results

After laser tattoo removal, you may experience swelling and possible blistering, which can take two weeks to heal. An antibacterial ointment may be prescribed to help promote healing. Our team will provide you with specific aftercare instructions for safe and quick healing.

Repeated sessions are most likely needed to lighten the tattoo; the exact number of sessions can be determined during your consultation appointment.
