What is a Chemical Peel?

A chemical peel is a skincare treatment that uses a special chemical solution to improve the look and feel of the skin. This chemical solution causes the layers of the skin to peel away, revealing smoother, more youthful skin with a healthy glow.

Chemical peels are most commonly performed on the face, neck, and hands, and can help to improve:

  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Mild scarring and acne scars
  • Sun spots, freckles, and hyperpigmentation
  • Uneven skin texture
  • Certain types of acne

Who is a Candidate?

Healthy individuals who are looking to improve their overall skin texture and tone can often benefit from a chemical peel. However, you should not receive this treatment if you have a history of abnormal scarring, have used the oral acne medication isotretinoin in the past six months, or are pregnant or breastfeeding. For more information regarding candidacy, contact our office today to schedule a consultation appointment.

Treatment

Chemical peels are available in different depths to provide a variety of different results. These depths include:

Light Chemical Peel

These peels provide subtle improvements over time. The outermost layer of the skin is removed to reveal healthy skin. Light peels are ideal for treating fine wrinkles, acne, uneven skin color, or dry, rough, sun-damaged skin. There is often little to no downtime associated.

Medium Chemical Peel

Medium peels remove the outermost layer and the upper part of the middle layer of the skin. This peel is great for addressing uneven or moderate skin discoloring, acne scarring, fine-to moderate wrinkles, and age spots. Recovery from medium-depth peels may take a week or more.

Deep Chemical Peel

Deep chemical peels produce the most dramatic results. The chemical solution penetrates the lower middle layer of the skin to treat moderate lines and wrinkles, deep acne scars, extensive sun damage, uneven skin tone, and precancerous growths. Recovery time is longer for this type of peel.

During a chemical peel, a chemical solution will be applied to your skin. This may cause a warm sensation that may be followed by a tingling or stinging sensation. The chemical solution is then washed off or neutralized.

We love each staff member that works here!

We totally trust their opinion of what “needs” to be done! They are always on the up ‘n up as to the latest and greatest! The membership they offer is probably one of the best in Tulsa. Plus, the place is gorgeous and they even have cute jewelry/gifts for sale.

I have to say that the women of Results Medical are the best I have ever met.

Each of them shine in how they treat their clients and most importantly their knowledge in their field. I honestly won’t go anywhere else. I can’t say enough about them they simply are THE BEST!!!
