The active ingredient in Kybella is synthetic deoxycholic acid, a molecule that aids in breaking down and absorbing excess fat in the treatment area. Kybella Treatment

To start Kybella injections, Dr. Bilbruck will mark the injection sites with a surgical marker and apply a topical numbing cream to ensure your comfort. The Kybella will then be injected using a fine needle. At each Kybella treatment, patients will receive multiple small injections under the chin. The exact number of injections needed will depend on the amount of fat under the chin and the desired results. Each treatment takes about 15 to 20 minutes to complete, and multiple treatments may be needed.

Kybella Results

Following Kybella, you may experience swelling, bruising, redness, and numbness at the injection site. You can expect to see results within 4 to 6 weeks of your first treatment as the body needs time to eliminate the destroyed fat cells, with continued results after every following appointment.

Since everyone has a different chin profile, the number of cosmetic treatments needed overall will vary from patient to patient. Our team will work with you to help determine how many treatment sessions are best for you. Each treatment session should be given at least one month apart, and you should not undergo more than six treatments. Once destroyed, the fat cells under the chin should not return.
