Learn MoreA skin lesion is a part of the skin that has an abnormal growth or appearance compared to the skin around it. There are two main categories of skin lesions, including primary and secondary.
Primary skin lesions are abnormal skin conditions that are present at birth or appear over a person’s lifetime. Secondary skin lesions are the result of irritated primary skin lesions. Common examples of skin lesions include blisters, macules, nodules, papules, rashes, and more.
Lesion removal is a procedure that removes skin lesions or abnormal growths on the skin, which can be either benign or malignant.

Learn MoreAnyone who is bothered by the look or feel of a skin lesion can benefit from lesion removal or treatment. If you have a skin infection at the site of treatment, it is best to wait until it heals. There are a variety of different techniques that can be used to remove lesions, including:
Involves eliminating lesions by freezing them with liquid nitrogen. The dead tissue will then slough off.
This treatment involves your doctor excising (cutting out) the lesion from your skin.
A small blade is used to remove the outermost layers of the skin, including the lesion.
This involves scraping or scooping out the skin lesion. An electrical current called electrodesiccation may be used before or after.
Depending on the nature of the lesion, laser treatments may be able to help treat the issue.
There is often little to no downtime required following lesion removal. However, downtime will ultimately depend on the size of the lesion removed and the method of treatment. For the best results, avoid strenuous activity and alcohol consumption for at least 24-48 hours after treatment. Our team will provide you with specific aftercare instructions to ensure you heal quickly.
